Champagne

 

Cuvée Vivaneau, Grand Cru, Blanc de Blancs, Pertois-Moriset, Le Mesnils-sur-Oger

This is very easy drinking Champagne with light citrus overtones.

 

Cuvée Vivaneau, Premier Cru Rosé, Pascal Cossy, Pargny-les-Reims

A lovely coppery pink colour it is full bodied with a lively flavour a great rose Champagne perfect with starter’s poultry and seafood.

 

Laurent Perrier Cuvee

Laurent Perrier is special as it is one of the few remaining family-owned houses.

 

Pol Roger

Pol Roger is typical of the traditional style full flavoured mature tasting wines.

 

Veuve Clicquot NV

Lingering fruity, flavours of apple and pear on the palate create fresh harmonious and lively Champagne.

 

 

Sparkling Wine

 

Jean Louis Denois, Méthode Traditionelle

Sparkling wine made in the traditional way with a blend of Pinot noir and Chardonnay. An elegant style backed up with great richness of fruit. Perfect as an aperitif.

 

Rocco, Prosecco, Venezia, Brut

It is aged using the Charmat method and the result is a soft, delicate wine which is the colour of pale straw. On the nose it is delicate and fruity. On the palate it is clean, balanced with moderate fullness.

 

Rocco, Rose, Vino Spumante

The Rocco Venezia Rose is produced form the grape variety of Pinot Nero and Raboso, from the vineyards situated on the flat of the Piave river in the Veneto region. It is the colour to rose petals and pomegranates. The bouquet is flowery with hints of raspberries, cranberries and cherries. It has an intense fine and fruity flavour.

 

 

House White Wines

 

Cantina Valdadige, Pinot Grigio, Italy, 2005

A well-made, popular fruit-driven medium bodied white wine with a good intensity of aromatic high-toned fruit.

 

Domaine Les Yeuses, Vermentino 2005

This aromatic, crisp, light bodied made in a refreshing modern style has elegant gooseberries and ripe lime aromas.

Sancerre, Chavignol, Sauvignon Blanc, Domaine Delaporte, France, 2005

This classic Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc show graceful gooseberries and limes with a steely minerally finish.

 

Chablis, Domaine Adhémar, 1er Cru Fourchaume et Francis Boudin, 2005

Consistently top quality, this 1er Cru Chablis is a full-bodied Chardonnay with great complexity of aromas and a racy, minerally finish.

 

Domaine de la Croix Belle, Grenache / Viognier, France, 2005

This medium-bodied white wine has lovely aromas of white peach and almonds and a great balancing and refreshing acidity.

 

Mistral Chardonnay Selection de Terroirs Vina Candelaria, 2004

A very well made Chardonnay with hints of well-integrated spices from the oak and an overall purity of fruits reminiscent of Burgundy.

 

Salomon, Grüner Vetliner, Hochterassen, Austria, 2006

This fashionable, unusual grape variety (Grüner Vetliner) is a great alternative to Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio with its fresh, rich citrus fruits and hints of white pepper.

 

 

Rose Wine

 

Chateau de Chausse Rose, Cotes Provence 2005

Grenache 55% - Cinsault 45%. Good colour - lots of lovely ripe fruit, easy to drink and enjoyable with a very nice length.

 

 

House Red Wines

 

Domaine Les Yeuses, Merlot, 2005

Supple, juicy, youthful glass of southern French silky Merlot.

 

Mistral, Viña Candelaria, Syrah, Chile, 2003

This spicy, medium bodied red wine is full of ripe black fruit aromas with soft tannins and a great elegance.

 

 

Other Red Wines

 

Rosso di Montepulciano, Dei, Italy, 2005

This Sangiovese has excellent ripe, spicy red cherries with soft, juicy tannins. Perfect for the summer.

 

Marius Almansa, Bodegas Picqueras, Reserva, 2002

This blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon makes for a modern Spanish style of red wine. It is full bodied, soft and juicy with hints of spicy oak.

 

Château du Maine, Bordeaux, France, 2003

This is very fine, elegant, full bodied and fleshy Merlot dominant wine. The 20% Cabernet Sauvignon brings cassis and firm but ripe tannins to the blend.

 

Côtes du Rhône, Rouge Xavier Vignon, 2004

This is a serious first class Côtes du Rhône made with mostly old Grenache vines and a small amount of Syrah resulting in a medium bodied, juicy and spicy and a long, powerful finish.

 

Pikes, Polish Hill, Shiraz, Australia, 2004

This is a full bodied, rich, spicy red wine with fabulously intense black fruits aromas, hints of chocolate and liquorice. This richness is balanced by a great overall elegance of style which makes it a perfect food partner.

 

Chateau de Chausse, Cotes de Provence 2002

Easy to drink, full bodied red wine. Very nice with seafood or light meat.

 

 

Sweet Wine

 

Château Laurette, Ste-Croix-Du-Mont, France, 2003 (Half bottle)

This Sémillon wine shows wonderful sweet honeysuckle and spicy honeyed aromas with a great balancing and refreshing acidity.
